    Hi

Can anyone give me some advice on my Google places listing?

I made one myself a year or so ago which never showed up on the listing.

I was then contacted by a third party company who told me they worked on behalf of Google and could create one and edit it every day which is vital in order to get it listed. So I signed up to their service (one off payment of £125).

Sure enough, their listing did appear linked to my site on the search results but the info displayed was incorrect. After many emails and call to get this changed I have given up. They have not changed the advert since day one and have now told me the saleseman was wrong, a liar and has since been sacked.

In the end I told them just to delete their advert all together as it was more a hindrance than a help. I didn’t even bother to try for a refund.

They have told me that they will delete it but have no control over when Google actually updates itself so it could be still listed for months. They have also said there is no point them fixing the mistakes as they still won’t be fixed until Google updates, so basically the next time it updates it will disappear.

I’ve tried now to get my original version in play. I’ve registered with the postal pin (which I hadn’t done before) .. But my original advert does not get displayed. The third party advert takes precedence.

I’ve emailed Google about it but just get back an automated response that “this listing is an owner verified listing” etc.

Does anyone know what I can do to get my version back on?
    Thanks!

I don't think Google will entrust this services to other company, they been acquiring more companies so it means they can handle what they have now.

As for your listing, counter that wrong information by linking to your with the right information like address & phone number. Emphasizing these details on your site can help better..
