Google Placement Ads: Could I Dramatically Increase Conversions?

Are placement ads worthwhile? I have been using adwords for some time but have never known how to utilize the content network and placement ads.

What are the top five things I need to know?

Do you have to bid to a certain point to get your ads to show?

Do you write your copy differently?

Do your campaigns get more impressions when they get higher CTRs?

    I'd love a few pointers.

Using the Content Network will depend on what your campaign objectives are.

Your advert will not be as targeted as an advert within the search network so the copy/image should be targeted for a speculative viewer.

Regarding CPC it is generally lower however, the question should be what is that click worth to you. Over a period of time you will find a Conv rate and have a good idea of this

I think you get a lot of imp as soon as your advert if verified not sure about CTR being associated with Imp but makes sense

I good AdWords ad, and a top placement, on a high traffic targeted site, is the
best combination, in my opinion :)

Do some split-ad testing along the way...test...test...test...

the content network can be a blessing and a curse, use it right and you can get boatloads of traffic much cheaper than search

just remember to track everything and throw away those keywords that dont convert
