I used 4 pigeons to check my pages, but I still only have a PR5, guess they are not so smart as the Google ones. I must use the wrong bread...
Next time try reading the first post of the thread. But anyway, thanks for resurecting a dead thread.
Does that mean I get the red rep taken off me ? I got it for posting this story not knowing it was already a year old .
come into the matter : Note: This page was posted for April Fool's Day - 2002. is what is given on the page
Does anyone know if there are any interviews with any of the pigeons? I know they encourage their employees to blog but unfortunately I worry that the workload for the pigeons is so high that they won't get around to it. I have heard that they had to separate the male pigeons from the females as they were engaging in some racy activities at work - what google scandal will be next...
Well i thought pigeon rank is the algorithm and page rank is the rank they give to each page. But i never read any of the Google's april fools pages. I think i heard it from some one.
The heart of Google's search technology is PigeonRank, a system for ranking web pages developed by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin at Stanford University.PigeonRank's success relies primarily on the superior trainability of the domestic pigeon (Columba livia) and its unique capacity to recognize objects regardless of spatial orientation. The common gray pigeon can easily distinguish among items displaying only the minutest differences, an ability that enables it to select relevant web sites from among thousands of similar pages.
