A Google OS would be very good. If they did it though, they would be taking it too far in my opinion. They would control everything pretty much - Mobile market, computers, internet searching. Maybe its time they just concentrated on what they've got already.
I heard that Google present this phone on 23rd September . I think it was the great effort of Google. This phone offers easy access to instant messaging services, including Google Talk, AOL, Windows Live Messager and Yahoo! Messenger. Searching the informations through this phone is faster compared to other mobile phones. It has a built-in compass, which displays a 360-degree Google Street view based on location. Also it support for YouTube videos. It will compete Apple's 3G iphone. When did it came to India. I am eagerly waiting for that phone. ----------------------------------- Bindu Jaisankar
if any of you got a chance to try google phone, please let me know whether this phone can run java application (j2me) on it or not? or it can only run android application. Thanks a lot.
Hosty crocodile. When you say taking it too far. Do you mean too far for Google, i.e. overstretching themselves? Or too far for us? If you mean they'll be getting too big, just remember there is another big player out there called Billy Boy and co, and they already have an OS, Search, and strong command of the mobile and Enterprise market. But yes it is getting pretty scary. I recently read one blogger's description of how his daily tasks employed many of Google's services. Much like myself. I'm just waiting for the gCar and gHouse. Here's Google's take on the future: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2008/09/next-internet.html
I would be interested to hear from somebody who has the thing and their experiences. When the iphone was launched, both times there were queues going around the block for miles outside the Apple shop. No such hysteria for the gphone. So does anybody actually know anybody who knows anybody that has one, lol?
