Why not. If they put enough work in it and develop it right it should be a nice competitor for the iphone. There are some major weaknesses in the iphone so i am looking to be something good google's phone.
I think this phone will still be behind the iPhone. Anything else that comes out just like the iPhone will just be considered as "copycats" or something. But I'm still looking forward to how it's like.
That's the only reason why it will do well. Everyone will buy it thinking it's the best since it's from Google, when, in reality, it probably won't. We're all brainwashed by big G! Ahhhhh... ::grabs tinfoil hat:: But seriously, I think they will do a good job. They have the resources to compete and come up with great products if they want to.
They did not disclose the details yet. They are collaborating with some other companies to do the manufacturing.

I really cannot wait to see this phone! I am in need for a new phone in mid 2008 also. So hopefully this will come to Verizon.
I'd buy a dollar that says 'partnered by google' on it. Mind you only if it doesn't cost more than a dollar.
That will be more like your iris scan or a finger print scan. That is probably going to be the dollar of the future. I don't know who is going to develop the software and hardware. It could be google. If so may be it will be called google dollar.
