Google Penalty????

    I went to a site that showed I have a google penalty but my question is how do you know why you have this penalty and how do you get rid of it?

    Could you expand a little bit more on the part where you are saying some site showed you were penalized. Seems suspicious. If you were really penalized, you would know.

    As to dealing with a penalty - try looking at this chart for a start (I'm not saying you should base your decisions on that).

    In that case linkbuilding is also blackhat in the eyes of google, it is you who draw the lines between black and white HAT...only portion being one should know the limits upto which u can do it
