My site is not doing as well in google as it is in Yahoo serps and it has been suggested that I am possibly being penalized. What I have read about being penalized doesn't seem to fit but perhaps I am in denial. Most of my serps for keywords have improved on google and I am on pages 1-3 for a number of important keywords whereas I was never on those pages-ever. The discrepancy between yahoo and google is significant when it comes to certain keywords as most of my keywords do better on yahoo, while with some I am doing very slightly better on google than yahoo. My yahoo rankings improved within the last 2-4 weeks, I noticed it about 3 weeks ago, while the google rankings are lagging as I already stated. Traffic is steady over the last three months. Finally I have done a lot of on site optimization in the last six months, add a good amount of back links so I am kinda wondering if this is or isn't normal or is some penalty hitting some of my pages. BTW. None of my serps have dropped, only improved over the last three months. Huh?
There is no penalty here. BTW, if you could study and improve long-tail keywords in google, you will definitely get better conversions.
That wasn't penalty in my opinion, perhaps other sites that rank better on Google has better quality than yours ( in term of SEO)
i have same the for few of my site, google is little bit in mode of updation. so just add more content and quality back links for google
no penalty as your site is ranking well for some KW's - get some quality content driven backlinks into the pages that aren't being ranked highly
I am sure this is not because of penalty. just try to build link popularity and update your contents regularly then there will be chance that you will get good rank for some keywords. Best of luck.
