Google penalty for being offline for a long time

My server was offline for 4-5 weeks. In the mean time google deindexed most of my urls and is not sending traffic compared to the state 4-5 weeks ago.

Most of the sites links to each other and some of the sites are very trusted and strong.. They are pure content sites. That was the reason of my traffic.

Is someone experienced with a similar problem? Do you think the problems will almost totally solved by time? I dont want to hear about opinions who did not have experience sth similar. I would like to hear you experiences with this if any of you have similar experiences.

    Thanks.

i have had that same problem. the biggest problem is that google may not reindex you. if so you might want to send google a note asking to be reindexed

If you get some new links to your site google should follow them and reindex the site also.

Google would normally re index your site as long as their spiders/robots can find you

With Google indexing contents within hrs these days- as Matt Cutts says Minty Fresh Indexing -4/5 weeks is a long time.

My site was down for 4 days (19th-23rd Sep.) --and it has been penalized:(
A more logical explaination is the indexing problem of Google bots during the downtime.

Don't worry- bots will again find your site when you add new contents and you will get back to your original position. Just hold your patience.

Thanks for the answers. I believe the same thing..

knightkrm, what are the ranges for your case? (the duration your site is offline and time to wait until reaching to the same position for google)

One of my sites was down for a long 12 days because of issue with the hosting provider. At that time my indexed pages are 90,000. After being offline, I can see that Google reducing the pages from their Index. It fall on some 5000 something in the 12 day. Then after my site back, I did nothing, just waited.. One thing I did was, when the site was offline, most of the linking partners deleted my links from their sites. After finding this, I deleted theirs too. The indexed pages again increased and after 3 months, it is on 1,42,000.

So you dont need to worry, in the meantime build some new links with other sites.... Update content....
