In a few weeks the home page of my site was gone in the Google rankings for just one keyword combination. From position 12 to 220......

Strange thing is that an other keyword combination is still ok in the rankings.

    site: www.it-profile.nl
    keyword "penalty" = ict vacatures
keyword without penalty = ict banen

I had some guys looking at this problem, but no one was able to help me..

    who can ????

Tell you what. Start backlinking again and then check back in a week. See if you move up any. You may regain it back.

    Hi,

You may add the 3+ pagerank site in your link page.

Not to worry, do continue with your link building, but are of quality links, so as to improve you site position back.

i got d same problem too, my pharma site thrown beck to 250th position.before 2 weeks. Now it is at 20-24th position. so keep on link building but are of genuine quality.

    thanks,

I had this exact same problem before on a wordpress blog. What happened was the blog got hacked and many spammy links were added to the homepage, so it effected the homepage rankings for the main keyword, but I was still received long tail traffic. If you fix the problem the rankings should come back. It's usually only a big problem when it's a domain wide penalty.
