Today when i was reading top SEO blogs to get my SEO knowledge updated i saw everybody is talking about Google penalties J C penny, Overstock & Forbes. Main reason for there penalties is they are practicing SEO techniques which are against Google Webmaster guidelines. Like link farms Selling Links and all that, But I have an question If selling links on your website is against Google Webmaster world, So why Yahoo Directory, Best of the Web, Business.com and all directories offering paid directory submission are banned as they are selling links on there page. We all do directory submission to get inbound links some of they are free and some are paid so paid directory should be consider as selling links. Thanks For Answering.
Generally Google does not like the paid links. However, according to Matt Cut who is one of the Google employees known as Google speaker, “The money you spend for getting listed in web directories is not considered as paid linksâ€. So if you pay for getting listed in top internet directories you pay for being reviewed by a SEO expert for the possibility of listing inclusion. watch this video:
Well if it's against "the law" according to Google to use Link Farms, why not place your competitor links on these Link Farms? That way they will be bombed away.
In very rare public cases like JC Penny they'll apply a manual penalty. More commonly if you're a really serious spammer they'll just manually deindex you. Otherwise you'll never get a penalty for a link.
The new algorithm has pushed back many top sites. But build good links, that can only help. Link farms, etc will absolutely destroy your rankings.
Thanks The video is very handy. It clears all my points. Please tell me more about doorway pages, If i redirect complete website to another existing website will this will count as doorway pages. Thanks
