So, do you think a site using YOTPO for reviews will be getting dinged for this? I mean, I have a review block below each of my products, but not all products have reviews. Could this or even a floating contact form be hurting me?

I'm not sure I understand the mark up issues within the rich snippets.

The issue is with the abuse of the markup. Are you trying to cheat? Did you show that the review page has 5,000+ positive reviews but no actual real reviews?
The problem was with the abuse of the rich snippets and people falsifying their own sites reviews with fake markup.

No, I most certainly was not having false reviews. I also received an official response from YOTPO stating that they work with Google and their snippets are well within guidelines. Should be smooth sailing.

Google is not making it miserable. They are trying to make it better for the consumer. It is difficult and that is good. I don't wanna see brand new sites ranking for keywords every day.

Google is against any form of spam, whether its content spam, link spam or rich snippet spam. You would not be able to fool Google for long.
