Why on earth google would penalise you for using their own product? Huh?

Who told u this in the first place? Go ahead with any google product with ur site. Analytics is good.

I agree. This is just crazy. If they are penalizing the use of analytics, it must be a bug.

I heard talk of this before, and actually considered removing analytics.

Reason being= Google neither admits or denys that they use your bounce rate factor along with other info in determining serp positions.

I don't see how Google could know your bounce rate if you didn't use Analytics. If you have an extremely high bounce rate, it may be something to consider.

    floorrod, good point.

however there are many other ways for google to know your bounce rate. They can use adsense to track the same. some people might question this but if adsense bot can index pages then why not track ur bounce rate?

I think what The OP is asking is whether Google USES Google Analytics in penalising a website..

We hope not, it is just a guess that Google could use the immense data it mines using Analytics..

True Google can also use adsense, and google collects a lot of DATA but Analytics gives the most granular DATA to google which they can use to see How worthy your site..?

Whether they use or NOT? Nobody is sure..
Whether they can use? THEY SURE CAN...
