Check out this job posting from Google. There has been a lot of speculation in the press about G getting into Paypal's business but thought I had read somewhere that it was only a rumor. I wonder if this position will sell a Google payment processing solution or a OEM/private label? http://jobsearch.monster.com/getjob.asp?JobID=32179719&WT.mc_n=MKT000125
This seems to be coming true. Cooel. I hope google gets into this as well. My AdSense Checks would cleared faster then Google: Manager, Strategic Partner Development - Merchants Payment Solutions
Seems like it would be a good idea for them to get into something along the lines of Paypal. But in a more international way. There have long been too many useful features with Paypal that are only available to those in the US (ATM cards for one).
I wasn't aware that the Paypal ATM/Credit cards did not work in the uk? Seems rather shortsighted to me. Not to take my thread off on a tangent. . . but . . I use software developers in the Ukraine and I've been trying to find a convenient and cost effective way to pay them. I can use Paypal but they have to go through an intermediary that tacks on a 25% fee (evidently Paypal is also not available there). Western Union will only let me xfer $2k at a time and there is a $114 fee for each transaction. I was thinking about looking into an international debit card that I could deposit payments to here and it be accessible to them there (something with a low transaction fee). Anybody heard of such a thing? -jay
Classifieds: paypal atm cards work fine in the UK - from what I hear. It's just that they don't make them available to UK Paypal account holders - or rather they only make them available to a select few.
I've just had confirmation from paypal that they will be launching the atm cards in the UK at some point in the future. No set date as of yet.
