twitters popularity has skyrocketed in the past few months, i dont think they will sell to anyone before they really know hoe much their site is worth.

Twitter is only going to get bigger. It is so much more than facebook or myspace ever was, mostly because twitter is a protocol rather than a social networking website. If anything they will sell out after the site is worth over a $billion. Because of its scalability, I predict twitter one day be a top 5 online presence.

Google missed out on a big one. They probably saw this coming as well. Overall, I wouldn't of mind owning a share of twitter, o well.

twitter will never sell themselves because they know how big they are.
the best thing we could see in the near future is that twitter grows out to be in top 5 well known online companies and it would be really fun if twitter signed a deal with facebook or myspace and expanded its reach and at the same time started competing with other online giants such as yahoo Microsoft or even Google.

either this or else a quick demise with everyone leaving twitter due to the huge amount of spam and hardly any monetary gain, but you never know

I always wondered... how does twitter earn. I see no ads. I see no affiliate marketing.

They don't. No income, just spending VC money. Their business strategy is still very fuzzy. Remember, Google didn't have a revenue stream for several years before they finally stumbled upon their present methodology.

Has there been any movement on this lately ? Twitter does not need to advertise because when they do sell up it will be for a huge amount, as it becomes more and more used by business as well as everyone else.

I hope they don't buy Twitter. They will probably mess it up. $250 million seems like too little money.

When you are a cash cow, everybody wants you. Twitter has a huge potential. Should they agreed to sell, they shoul nego for the max price

With twitter reeking with spam and robots (like myspace), i wonder just how valuable it will remain. No more value added!
