    I am sure Twitter will refuse that offer,Twitter is financed 55 milllions start up and I dont think 240 millions is enaough to buy twitter.if Google insist to buy twitter,Google need more then 1 billions cash to buy it more over youtube that bought only 1 billions at the past

    I think google should do it.. but if microsoft or somebody else buys it, then that's a great investment for them lol.. twitter is growing like crazy!!

    twitter has been around for a while it just got so hot buzz in the last few months. I think microsoft should buy it :D But if google buys it what are we going to do :)

    Google has bought blogger from tweeteersss owners before! Everything Google finds interest in gets hot like look at blogs google start the heat, also for online videos youtube!

    Its important for Google's survival to buy out top rivals or to buy the hottest thing in the market to gain "relevancy".

    Because after all, google is a shell, most people use it for its "advertising" power to the masses.
    It has to constantly "reivent itself" and stay "relevant". Which is why it needs new blood like twitter.

    Umm your logic is a bit dodgy. It doesn't matter what the value of them is - they were offered half a billion dollars worth haha. Oh and that's probably a good thing because if they are low at the moment, they're going to shoot right back up in a year or so.

    Is twitter a search engine? Lots of people are saying Google is greedy buying up their rivals, so how is twitter a rival? Twitter would be a good piece of real estate for advertising, which is probably why Google is interested in it, as it was with youtube.
