    I use blog commenting less and less now and more blogs that allow do-follow links seem to be turning into link farms. I would continue to use blog comments but also look to utilise other types of links such as articles, directories, social bookmarking, niche links etc and have blog commenting as a cog in an overall link building strategy.

    Blog commenting was never an excellent SEO strategy as far as link building is specifically concerned ! Yes , the reason I would still recommend it is because you will get referral traffic from the blogs you comment on ,

    Blog commenting is quite different thing then Panda updates.
    Panda updates is all about content relevancy of your website while blog commenting is for link building.According to panda updates Google is starts focusing on your website content.

    Google Panda is targeting two things… Duplicate content and spammy links.
    Commenting on other blogs is still recommended as in this technique you can control the quality of links.

    If you are using some bot for this task, it will affect ranking of both linking and linked blog (if the blog, on which you are commenting, is ‘dofollow’ blog)

    You can simplify your blog commenting task with 'Keyword Country'... It retrieves a huge list of blogs that support blog commenting. Also, you can find best bloggers of your niche with this tool.

    Google panda is giving good result in seo, it less valuate if back link is not relevant.

    Blog commenting is a useful tactic to gain backlinks and raise your site's profile and should be a part of your overall backlinking strategy.

    But...

    Please don't spam the internet with useless, nonsensical, irrelevant garbage (directed at no-one in particular) :)
