Has anyone been affected by the new search results ranking algorithm?

Cutts announced that it's aimed only against "spammy" sites, but seems like many decent whitehat folks report ranking drops

Damn.. one of my sites was affected a few months ago.

I guess 4.0 will only be more tough for certain sites.

All personal money sites increased in rankings and all clients increased as well. Loved this update.

Some test sites dropped. Commonalities between the test sites that took a negative SERP hit:
    • Over 6-10% inclusion of target keyword components in the content.
    • Target keywords used aggressively in Title, Description and URL. Actually, I wouldn't even use the word aggressive. The sites that weren't extremely conservative with these metas got hit.
    • Low quality spun content. High quality spun content (e.g. TheLeadingArticles.com) was not affected.

Voices on low-quality spun have warned webmasters for last couple years.
I wonder if there are any signs that Panda has touched guestblogging, that mr. Cutts promised couple months ago

I would be quite happy if Google devalued all spun content. That would allow those of us who write only original copy to score higher.

I don't know if it's going to sustain, but I've just checked my Google webmaster dashboard and noticed a spike in search queries right around the 18th-19th of this month. I hope and pray it's going to be a positive trend.

I don't think spun content has really been an issue in taking up search terms for years. From what I have seen from lists of sites that have been taken down from their high rankings are sites that have had needlessly high rankings for poor content--sites like ask.com and ebay. I think that many sites would benefit from these updates. I can't say though, my sites' results don't look like they have changed.

I wouldnt know an update If i saw it, bought a load of amazon stores, then they started crashing in index
weeks before "4.0" then I realized I was not able to add/change/edit content, so therefore I
was stuck with "thin" affiliate stores. Even though I have added unique content in the blog
section, it appears to have made no difference or impact...was making some money, close to zero again.
One store started off with like 28k indexing, within on day it was like 1k, and this was before
anyone had even heard about panda 4.0, and for the person that lost just
150, well I am crying hard for you that is all you lost, and if that is it, then that
is not really a lost, more of a google dance if you ask me...

I wonder if the search algorithm is constantly changing this month or its fixed with every update (4.0).

It looks like they've been aggressively playing with it during last week. When they had found the result they liked, they did stop and called it "Panda 4.0". They'll take a look how the SERP has reacted and will go on with minor algo tweaks

Can anyone tell me, has the panda 4.0 be over and SERP is implemented for new fewer days to month. Or it's still on.... and more to come...

    Any idea ?
