Site PR may get affect & your keyword ranking also may get affect. Now even Google has started sending if we have any un natural links pointing to our website, in Google Webmaster Tools.

    Drop in PR
    Drop in traffic
    Drop in rankings

This are the three main flags that will usually identify a google penalty, but there may be other small factors too.

You'll also know when you search for your keywords in Google and see if your site had dropped down or moved up in the pages of search results.

If you have a quality website and have done everything right then you have no need to worry. However if you have been a bit "black hat" about your methods then expect your site to just drop rankings/earnings overnight when it hits you.

Unfortunately I've seen some white-hat sites that've been effected by the panda update and some black-hat that haven't. I don't think anyone can predict if your site will be effected or not. I would expect though, that traffic is pretty much all that matters to you. PR doesn't directly effect your traffic (& traffic = $). So if you're traffic is good and your rankings are good, you should be happy. Otherwise you may have been hit by...you may have been struck by...the smooth panda.
