Well, I didn't just get hit, I got blasted...but here's the problem...I have a video blog that offers free tutorials...I am one of about 10 sites that actually targets the keyword actively. I make my own videos so there is no scraping and NO duplicate content whatsoever. I went from #5 to unranked (well, at least for the first 50 pages)...This algorithm missed the boat somewhere!
Three words: What The F**k? I checked my Google analytics after reading this and this is what I saw: Can it be from the small update or is there something really weird going on. My search engine traffic increased a lot.
I see my drop only from google US teritory. One of my site which has original content is affected. It seems this is the time to consider all aspect of my websites. Some from affiliates have already affected. I wish there are not only big sites on the top 10 of google search results.
Most of my sites increased which is great. But one site using the same link building methods and having an EMD went from #1 to #6. All unique content...very strange stuff!
THese days Panda is more active, it always try to catch the spammy sites as well as duplicate content.
Basically I think Google Panda is good because it aims to fight against content farms or duplicate content website.
I got rid of my dup content (which google took a month to notice) and today so far have 12,000 page views on that site - traffic has just been going up up up. Which translates to $1 in Adsense revenue, so not quite sure why I bothered, that barely covers the hosting cost.
I hope google keeps tweaking the panda update, because a lot of good sites have been hit in the update. Anyone have any idea when this update will get spread over other territories?
So basically what you are saying is that google is screwing over the people with low quality sites? YAY, that means the people with higher quality sites will get a boost. Finally! I've been waiting for this day for a longtime.
A lot of my auto-blogs were destroyed by this update! Fortunately, I have many other ways to make money besides relying on Google and AdSense.
Strangely enough, many good sites have been affected on my niche and spam sites are NOT gone My sites are up and down... also, unique content sites are more affected than other sites Interesting move by google, but I guess the only outcome is to switch some spam sites to other spam sites...
