Google Panda (Farmer) Update in UK

Discussion in 'Google' started by RFKSolutions, Mar 11, 2011.

    Hey Folks

Google Panda hit the US with a right good slap to many webmasters/seos out there. Some badly affected with the major change in algorithm.

So what are people’s thoughts about this rolling out in UK? Anyone any ideas when they think it may be, weeks, months?

I think a lot of people including myself a little worried to see how much impact it is going to have on the UK serps once it is rolled out.

They will never roll it out in the UK. Their coders made a BIG mistake 4 years ago, meaning that they can never specify 'co.uk' in their coding. A good thing too, otherwise there'd be all sorts of spam domains based on the .coms.

I am a little confused about your reply above. The panda update will be rolled out in UK, within few weeks or months I belive.

Changes will come there as well.

But is there really a need to create more threads about Google panda?

Seriously, here's more threads on this subject:

This particular treads seem to look at it from a UK viewpoint, whilst is similar its not the same as UK webmaster like me tends to prefer a UK viewpoint to the general international angle.

My understanding is that it will not affect UK that much given that most of the contents farm it affects are mainly US based. I know eHow has a UK content but so far I have not seen their ranking affected.

David Amerland did a blogpost about other aspect of the Panda update especially how to mitigate its effect at UK webmaster forum.

Unless you know exactly what they did, you should probably not speculate on the 'Panda' or 'Farmer' update (which is not even what they call it internally). It will probably go everywhere because it was more of an enhancement to their current system than any kind of change. The improvement has certainly affected many sites and will continue to do so as long as people are guessing as to what exactly they changed. I will tell you it mainly had to do with content.

I am not sure I agree with you that you should not speculate on Googe Panda update, you need to read Google's own announcement about the tweak and you will see what they claimed to have done to their algo. Non of my sites is affected but I am quite facinated by the effect it will have on those giant content farms

I think this was rolled out last night in the UK. SERP's all over the place, sites that relied on articles only that I monitor have dropped off the first page, and other sites have moved up dramatically.

Something is happening I just noticed one of my sites knocked off the first page having sat there for a long time. I only hope it is a dance!
