    Has anyone had any experience with using Google pages and in particular with how well the website does in Google searches? Do Google pages get a fair deal, can they be optimized as well as regular web pages?

    yes google pages cached in google server. Thats mean it must index search results.

    You can host a website for free on Google, with certain limitations. Such as only using Adsense to advertise, and using their CMS.
