I am building a new link exchange directory. It has been up for about 4 weeks. Google Webmaster Central shows that 10 of about 50 of the pages have been added to the index so far. The url is in my message signature. The link exchange directory is built with 50 category pages each one link away from the home page. So far over 300 link exchanges have been made with link exchange partners and directory members. I have seen no change in Page Rank. I understand that Google tries to update actual PageRank on an ongoing basis but only updates the toolbar indicator about every 3 or 4 months. Does anyone have any idea of when the next Page Rank update should run?
It updates real-time behind the scenes, the value we see is updated once every 3-6 months and un-scheduled intervals; meaning no one really knows when the next update is. You may or may not see an increase in the visual toolbar during the next update. Don't spend your time worrying about Pagerank, instead concenrate on building more backlinks, getting higher in SERPs and finding a nice woman to take of your downtime.
ive noticed a few ups and downs in some of my pages PR over the last few weeks.. some pr 3s have gone to 0..
So we must be going through an update then... I have seen some sites that I admire gone to PR 0 as well.. I'm guessing Google is getting tougher on websites.
with my estimate google will update its PR around 30 April and i am 80% sure about that google will do this in my estimated time
Thats assuming the visual update isn't triggered internally in the software and actually no-one really knows the exact date.
dude i used to keep track of page rank...but to be honest i don't even care anymore and i try to concentrate on SEO and getting traffic..not the PR...and it's been working since... PR doesn't mean a lot... Good luck
What he said. I've had PR1 sites rank in top 5 SERPs and PR4 sites nowhere near that (in comparably difficult niches). Just focus on building links and traffic, is most important.
Great answer buddy! Not important? really? Can I ask you why does Google not removing it? If that's not important? What do you think? Lol.
Because Google wants to keep, the importance of quality links to every website, and wants to show in public. PR is worthless, but Whatever Googler's are more experts they know which change requires at the specific time.
PR is not just for webmasters...it's kinda like a neat tool for all it's users to find out about the page... there is a lot more to SEO than PR...the importance of PR for me is 1/10... as i said people should concntrate on getting good baclinks to their site and the next you know you'll gain a decent PR and lots of traffic which means money...
