will my main priority at the moment is focusing on the quality links since I lost my hopes on that PR status update. The only reason at first why I was so excited on PR updates was to know how was the progress of the site I was working.
Go with give your page more backlink, google is still updating their PR policy. Be patience...hope your PR will be update in a short time.... Imdad
This. Having a high PR does not guarantee high ranking in SERP, ranking high itself does. As long as your sites are ranked well, don't bother too much about PR.
Nobody know what is happening why Google have not update PR for months. I hope we will have a clear picture by next month.
From what I've seen, the most recent minor update appears to have been flushed out by some major upgrades in the algo against black hat techniques centering on getting legit backlinks by way of negative reviews. April 2010.
I think Google is going to have a major update sooner or later, but may not be true for the newly created websites. One of my sites previously had a PR1 and for some reason I put a nofollow. Later that site's PR dropped to N/A. A couple of weeks ago before this minor update occurred, I removed nofollow attribute and that site retained the previous PR1, even though I removed back links for that particular site. That means it's PR was actually not updated; Google restored the previous PR. Now my main site is still PR0 with several back links. This site has been around for 7 months now. I believe this site should collect at least PR2 if Google normally update PR. Another new website that I pay close atttention to gain PR0 up to now although it has thousand of back links from 3 domains. I read in some articles that Google confirmed 2 types of PR data; internal and external. They definitely have PR system up and running but the PR we see in the toolbar is not necessarily correct. It might be external PR. The reason is clear Google wants to prevent PR abuses like selling link. I notice old websites with PR are still being updated in minor updates.
I agree with nexy, just continue gathering backlinks. I think the most important is SERP position....
