I had a few that stayed the same and 1 that went down 1. I had a pretty boring update which is certainly spurring me on to do a lot more marketing for the next 1. :)

I'm seeing PR updates across all mysite - some on internal pages only.
Not seeing any IBL changes yet.
It's good to see that the work I put in to sort out the mess with the cricket club homepage has paid off. It's gone PR5 like it should have been :)
So anyone that bought a link on it for $1 when it was PR2 looks like they're getting a good deal now :D

A domain registered on June 2nd has hit PR5, I guess there is no longer a 3 month period before links are counted

PR as far as I'm aware has always updated regardless of any sandbox effect.

I am a bit confused and wondered if you all might be able to shed some light on this for me.

For the keywords "used porsche 911" I am 1st in MSN search, but in google I dont even appear, there are only 25 pages of results for this keyword in google, should I at least be at the end? my website is www.just911cars.com

I have a pagerank of 3 up from a 2, well I guess 1 point is better than nothing! :)

    Cheers

    Gazzerman,

Welcome to the forum. How old is your website? How many incomming links do you have from good external sites? Obviously the site is indexed if you have pr.

Not to hijack the thread, but I checked and you only have that phrase showing up two times and your home page does not have very much content.

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread. First I must say damn your quick to reply, I though oh I will come back in an hour and see if anyone bothered!

I think now the initial pr update has gone there will be lots of people like me that thought they did everything right and realised that it did nothing for the SERPS.

An enlightening link Mopacfan, I stupidly concentrated so hard on getting links to my site with the keywords in it that I had not put enough attention to my own site.

All though my title and keywords and description all have those keywords?
I guess its about the words being in the actual content that counts.

    1. My site started in November 2004.
    2. I have many links going to my site most of them relative to Porsche or automotive.
    3. I have reciprocal links to other sites like directories also.

My programming goes back over 10 years on the web and I have always had websites that look good but little information on the homepage, is google forcing us to have ugly text rich pages. Will I get penalized for have the site description box at the bottom of my index page?

BTW, this is the best forum anywhere on the web, I have been monitoring a few for a while but have been hesitant until now to post, thanks for your warm welcome.

Welcome Gazzerman, dont even blink let alone leave a thread.. you'll come back and it'll be too many pages for you to read. You *will* think heavy text pages are ugly until they start to bring more traffic ;)

lol, Am I on the right track with the site description on the homepage then? Its away from the design of the site but the text is there for google.

    Im summary:

    1. Clean HTML code with lots of relevant keywords in the title, desc, H tags and content and anchors.
    2. Lots of links with the anchor text you are targetting pointing to you, pref from relevant sites.
    3. Fresh, regularly updated content.
    4. Time

    Thats about the main things.
(PR update has no bearing on serps, people here are excited about the update becuase they can sell links/ get more coop weight etc etc)

My main site went from PR3 to PR4 but 80% of inside pages are PR3, others PR2 and very few PR0. BL increased by 20% only but I spread BL across pages. Co-Op Weight went from 1300 range to 2100 range.

My new site went from PR0 to PR3 with 75% of inside pages at PR3, the remaining PR2. BL went from 0 to 600 and BL are focused on home page. Co-Op Weight went from 1200 range to 3700 range :D

A site for which I changed pages from Perl to PHP (same content) went from PR3 to PR2 even if BL increased to 500 from 30. Google didn't appreciate the move:rolleyes:

My reference site for which I didn't add any BL nor worked on SEO is still static at PR3 and had no BL increase.

So not a huge step forward but a little progress.
    One step at the time.

Most of my sites went up

    0 > 2
    0 > 4
    0 > 4
    2 > 3
    3 > 4
    4 - 4
    2 > 3

One of my accounts has lapsed for renewal with easyspace and its still got pushed from 0 > 3 lol :)

Nothing. Not a single thing. The PR is still at 0, no backlinks are showing up, no appearance in index. Google continues to give me the shaft for whatever reason. All those banklinks from high PR sites I got a month ago, nothing. I swear, it's like Google has a vendetta agaisnt me. :(
