Google has been so good to all of us lately that I keep looking over my shoulder, waiting for the other shoe to fall... The update looks good. (knockin' on wood)
Anybody know how long it generally takes before all sites have been updated??? I have a new one that went from 0 to 4 and another new one that unfortunately had been at 2 and still is at 2... Also moved a 3 to a 5 and a two 4s to 5's
Got it - I guess I was confused because the keyword data appears to be handled/stored differently than the backlink data - i.e. clicking on the bottom arrow shows data for every day (even "same" data) whereas on the backlink stuff, it looks you optimize the storage as you state above. Thanx for the clarification, alek
Great to see you too! I've been lurking since the forum opened, so figured it was about time I join in with y'all!
Hi Cricket. Did you follow my orkut suggestion to check this forum out or did you find it some other way? In any case welcome. I think you'll enjoy this forum. Back to Google. I think they had some problem with their last update. If you remember it was forever in coming and then some of the results were very strange. Take my company web site which has been very stable for several years. It has always had just over 500 backlinks. On the update of a few weeks ago this was dropped in half to 226. There was no way that was accurate. So I think Google has finally fixed their problem -- my comany site is back up to 522 backlinks. I don't see any reason to expect them to change this update. I think they have finally gotten it right.
hallo boys & girls! today my pr encrease from 5 to 6 and lots of becklinks too! ready for the serps update now!
Actually I have been watching Shawn's work for quite some time, first came across his site through another forum. I've have learned quite a bit from him. I watched the forum here since it opened, but just been lurking and reading. Great to see ya!
Good stuff I should have told you sooner - sorry Anyway - there is a lot of interesting thoughtful comment here Back to the subject - compar I hope your right that they are back on track as I have at times been tearing my hair out [that what is left I might add]. Last May we lost most of our links [between our sites] and were concerned because we could not work out the reasons - but now I am seeing [after changing the text on the links] all returning plus those that I have worked on in between so I am achieving 30 to 40 links on each which, if McDars tool is correct about the opposition and will re-establish our stability. I do hope so!
Backlinks did drop from 194 to 69. My PR 6 remained the same when I check the "little green bar" however in the "Keyword & Backlink Tracker" I am back down to a PR 5. Not sure where it is going to settle. Most of the backlinks that I lost were internal and a few whose PR dropped below 4. Because I currently have so few back links I thought I would analyze them based on the relevance of the sites that are linking to me. 19 High Relevance - 2=PR6, 5=PR5, 11=PR4, 1=PR2 4 Moderate Relevance - 1=PR5, 3=PR4 3 Low Relevance - 2-PR6, 1=PR5 2 No Relevance - 1=PR4, 1=PR3 40 Internal Links- 4=PR5, 8=PR4, 27=PR3, 1=PR0 1 Google Directory - 1=PR5 1 Yahoo Directory - 1=PR4 Interesting...
I just went from 1 to 49 reported links, and 90% of those links are from this forum (So, you will also get links from this forum since you have a link to your site in your signature ).
Thanks VS. I noticed when I search on tsptalk some of these links show up. So if any of my site's members search, all they will find is that I don't know what I'm doing Someone mentioned "hacks" to help with message board page rankings. How does that work? Thanks again!
How long does it take for these backlinks to show up in the backlink tracker? I know I have some now but the tracker still shows 0. TY
Google doesn't show them publicly... They will show up as soon as Google reports them: http://www.google.com/search?q=link:www.tsptalk.com - Shawn
Google is very particular about links from forums - and generally removes them. PHPbb, vbulletin et al normaly do not get indexed for precisely this reason. Its possible that since this is a nonstandard board it has not fallen under their filter.
phpBB.com and vbulletin.com are both indexed by Google fully (including their forum sections). - Shawn
Nope. try searching for specific text in this page http://www.cre8asiteforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=3057
Well, I can't speak specifically for an individual page, but that forum is being indexed properly by Google: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...8asiteforums.com+site:www.cre8asiteforums.com In fact, that page itself is indexed: http://www.google.com/search?q=allinurl:www.cre8asiteforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=3057 And a specific query for some keywords it has shows it in the results: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...e+Planning+Preparation+foundation&btnG=Search - Shawn
