i'm super interested to know when PG will finalize. all our pages have either lost the rank, which makes it harder to link trade with other sites, or they are still in the middle of updating. that'll be weird to have webrank, if they change it. hmm. i'm getting impatient though, is anyone else?!
The information I’m receiving is the new name will be “WebRank†moving forward rather than the typical “PageRank†that most people know it as. The variables that I’ve been told place more weight on: 1. Content 2. Links to the Site 3. Relevant Sites Linking to This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard....... If these are going to be the new priorities for the webrank....can you please tell me what were the priorities for the pagerank? Because for me...if you are right, then this would mean that there would be no change in the method for giving weight. Nik
I've heard from a "Close" friend working in Google that they will change their algorithm completely that's why they will change the name from PageRank to RankPage
yeah i have heard about WebRank , sounds interesting , just lets hope it wont take for ever to google to update it !
What exactly have you heard? Please let us know... Im interested to know how google got a trademarked term from yahoo to work for them.
Changing the algorithm to include contents and relevancy, rather than completely depend on number of links, is reasonable and much needed in my opinion. But changing the name to WebRank doesn't seem to make too much sense at all.
He's probably heard lots by now, it's a nice little search term.. I even opened it up for a pagerank discussion on my own blog ... as I'm sure 20% + of the folks that have heard about it have LadyH
