Hi, I've recently purchased a couple of links from sites with seemingly very high Google PageRank - but I couldn't find that much websites that link to them. Where does the high PR come from? Later I found out that the site's PR can be spoofed / faked with some 301 magic, in order to make people buy links. Is it true? Can't Google overcome this "hack"? Would love to hear your thoughts.
Fake pagerank is alive as ever. Just Google "fake pagerank checker" and you will find a bunch of websites you can use. Research every site if you intend exchange links
info:domain.com is the way to see if that website pagerank was legit or not. Example - There are 2 domains. Domain1.com / Domain2.com. I will use info:domain1.com to see if domain1.com has legit PR or not. - If the results display domain1.com then the PR is legit - If the results display domain2.com then the PR is fake. Why this command work? Most of Pagerank spoofing come by do redirect PR from another site to their owned. Aside from this, PR spoofing does still exists until these days.
