I tried the Rusty tool and we have a PR of 3 right now and it says we will have a PR of for for our LocalSavannah.com site. It also says we will go from a PR of 3 to a PR of 5 on our LocalHiltonHead.com site. :)

Results: Your current Google PageRank is 3. Based on our calculations, we predict your future PageRank after the next Google update will be 10, an increase of 228.03%.

Doesn't seem very accurate, this domain has 2 links and not 301 redirecting ;)

edit: may see the flaw there, site now appears banned as well as all other sites running coop. nice.

I analyzed several sites using the tool, and usually the ones that give a % increase between 0 and 5 are close to accurate. Something above that is unnatural for 'normal' sites, unless you have bought thousands of backlinks and trying hard to get a PR increase.

I am a software developer, and i even developed a few google

predictions tools. Now, let me explain it to you... this tools can't

really predicting pageranks, they can't even guess or get your next

pagerank. Even if they pretend to do that way!

They are all based on a "urban legend" a myth in other words.

If you give a special query to google toolbars, it will report you the

first 15 best incoming links for a website! Only the first 15 , if you

got 3000 backlinks, only the best 15. Please note that the best 15

don't mean the first 15 with the higher PageRank. The top backlinks

are also calculated on how many outgoing links, the websites topic

    related to your website topic,etc...

This scripts, are just grabling those 15 results, and they make a

    media like this:

    (n1+n2+....nX)/X - X is total amount of 15 results.

    EX :

    (PR1+PR4+PR4)/3

    or
    (PR1+PR4+PR4+PR1+PR4+PR0+PR1+PR4+PR9+PR1+PR4+PR1+PR2+PR2+PR4)/15

Now do you get why iwebtools and others websites are writing things

like this "Your next predicted PageRank is 6.5" or "6.54" do you get

it now, from there the decimal is coming from?!

This tools are just marketings lies, in order people to come and visit

    a website everyday...

let me show you some very well known problems.

    1. it only reports the first 15 backlinks. If you got 4000 backlinks,

and all of them are PR3/PR4 it won't show more then a PR4...and I more

then sure that with 4000 backlinks of PR3/PR4 you will get more then a

PR4.. because only the first 15 counts... and they only do an "

    aritmetic media"
    2. If you only get a single PR6 backlink it will calculated

    (n1)/1 = 6 / 1 = PR6 ... that isn't bullshit?!
    for 2 PR6...
    (6 + 6) / 2 = PR6

    for 3 PR5s...
    ( 5 + 5 + 5 ) / 3 = PR5

    3. Some scripts are even more crayz. they don't divide by "n" ... they

think that all websites are having more then 15 backlinks, so they

    directly devide by 15...
So if you buy a PR8 backlink, and that is your only backlink, then

    your predicted pagerank will be:

    8 / 15 = 0.5 :) it will be rounted to 1 !:)

Sorry for all my spelling mistakes - I am not an english native!

Softgroups, my PR analyzers use more sofisticad approach than one you mentioned. I will write at the site about the underlying algorithm to publish how do I calculate it.

iWebTool's site says I'll increas to PR3 from PR1 - RustyBrick.com says I will not increase at all. I would like to think that iWebTool is correct! I have been building many links from DP's Directory Solicitations & Announcements section. I tend to think that iWebTool is picking up on this, and RustyBrick is not...wonder what the difference is (calculation differences between the two tools).

Well, its really interesting to see this thread, which led me to Imagine what if the Predictions of Iwebtool, RustyBrick's tool start giving the accurate prediction, how will their market rate shoot up with all the webmasters clinging it!

Thanks to Westhaven for sharing the lighter information and make us happier for a moment!

Last update, iwebtool showed my site going from pr3 to pr5, my site stayed at pr3. It still shows it going to pr4 or pr5, we will see what happens, but I won't hold my breath. :D

It is not difficult to make a pagerank prediction tool.
I have one of that PR prediction tools.
But make sure read the note:
    _____________________ important note ____________________
Before you use me (tool): PR-prediction for fun entertainment purposes only.
If you want to get really accurate PR then you may download a Google toolbar,
PR predictor does not decide your final PR but Google toolbar does.
So Please Don't count on me. Also do not ask the prediction accuracy any more.
If we know the accuracy then it will not be a prediction.

Trust me, those pagerank prediction tools don't work, not even close.
If you got it right, just by luck.
