    The reason people wait for PageRank updates is because Toolbar PR functions like a rating system for websites. It also has real commercial value, as other have pointed out. We feel the same way waiting for a PR update that a university president probably feels before U.S. News and World Reports puts out their annual college rankings. Despite the fact that PR barely affects rankings, a high PR brings with it respect and the potential for greater advertising and link bartering power.

    PR is the result of all the hard work some of us put into their sites, lol im sure some guys already suicide themselves for PR (not much but some perhaps).

    Does anyone know Matts actual position/job at Google. From what I've read by him he gives the impression he's not involved in the tecnical side at all. He sounds like he's coming more from a marketing/PR angle.

    According to a declaration by him in a court document he is "a Senior Staff Software Engineer and head of the Webspam group at Google". As a software engineer, he can't be all bad.
