I'm interested in seeing how my page speed compares to others on the web. What's your page speed? (Can be found out by installing pagespeed or using google webmaster.) Currently I have a 78/100. Is that good?
nice tool best result for one of my websites - 88/100 (clear html website) and worst - 74/100 (wordpress blog)
Interesting. My site just gained a point (79/100) and I didn't change a thing. I wonder if this tool is entirely accurate.
http://www.dropshippers.co.za/Category.html Page Speed Score: 96/100 I use webspeed test, load speed is less than 3s for everything: http://www.webpagetest.org/result/100731_23X8/1/details/ Btw, http://www.webpagetest.org/ is very nice, you should try. BUT, big BUT, the google webmaster tool tell me different story: On Claw stats, the speed is less than 0.5s for load html after I deploy varnish but very worse on "Site performance", it says "pages in your site take 6.0 seconds to load (updated on Jul 29, 2010). This is slower than 82% of sites.". and I believe I got punished on slow speed
Yes, it is help because Google now consider page speed as one of the ranking factor. By it you can measure what is your page speed and how can you improve it ..
Now mine is an 81/100 for an IPB forum. I wonder if theres anything easy I can do at my end to help improve this. Link is in my signature if anyone has any suggestions.
Can someone who has it installed check out my website: http://geekhang.com, would be much appreciated. Thanks.
I think pagespeed can somewhat effect the site SEO. The question is how fast your site need to be to get it optimized for the search engines.
Took 8.5 seconds to first load, browser reload was 1.9 seconds. 79 points out of a 100 for google page speed.
Mine has an 80, and some of the suggestions can't be done. My homepage is 140kb but makes a fair amount of DB calls. In webmaster tools my site is in the lower 20 percentile. My other site is faster than 92 percent of the web though, but it's a very simple homepage.
