    Usually my site stays on the top of Google for about 3-4 weeks then if I don't do the necessary tweeks then the chances are my site will start slipping. The best thing for you to do is to never stop working. Keep an eye on the Analytics and if you see a dip then the best thing you can do is to work on your content and links.
