I'm a huge noob, struggling to understand what you folks are even saying. Heh... I've been reading PR as page rank, hope that's right. How do these prediction scripts know your PR without knowing keywords? That is something I don't understand.
Yes PR is PageRank. But it's only the green bar. It DOES NOT mean the ranking of a page for a given search term. PR is irrelevant to KeyWords. It's a very confusing name. It's named after Larry Page apparently and doesn't refer to a web page. The predictions are done by looking at all the available Google datacentre and take the highest returned from there.
Interesting, so what does it mean? What's a PR0 compared to a PR7? My sites say PR3 on that seaochat future pr tool.
It means the PR7 has exponentionally more links to it (or higher PR links to it) than the PR0. Nothing more, nothing less. Nothing to do with content. Nothing to do with ranking (directly) and nothing to do with search phrases. Search the Forums and Google to find some good intro's on PR vs. ranking.
No change for me, other than a couple of renamed pages showing rank now. And I was expecting to go back to a 5. They just updated backlinks the other day. This seems really soon after the b/l update; usually it's at least a week, or more, between the two. Maybe they had this ready some time ago, and just didn't release it? That would explain why more recent work for the site has not affected it. I am also beginning to believe the idea that there is some kind of aging for links coming into play. Or maybe they just found a faster way to figure things...
Interestingly mddv, I'm seeing the following as not updated: 64.233.161.99 64.233.161.104 216.239.37.104 216.239.39.99 216.239.39.104 slightly different to what you're seeing.
Ok, I'm not going to bed again, I woke up to 10 more pages of posts here lol my co op weight updated, but my toolbar (i'm using the new beta version) is still showing 0. oh well
Looks like we will both be really tired: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=151739&postcount=72
After so many false alarm "PR update" posts I am surprised at how many people actually paid attention.
While they were saying "I care less", I'm pretty sure that they've been following this for some time now, at least for 3 weeks. I've been checking a couple of forums for 3 weeks actually to see if there is any PR update ...
