PageRank is not dead. As I mentioned above, we continuously update our internal PageRank, and for the time being we'll continue to update the Toolbar PageRank occasionally.

Page rank still exist on a daily basis here! Good god....why so much attention to page rank. You can beat a competitor with page rank 1 and him/her having a page rank 3 or even page rank 4. Lord@!

 

damn, one of my site get pr 0, before is PR3

i notice google was updating PR tonight, i have checked my site PR on three diffrent site pr checker and 2 says PR 0 and the one is still on PR 3, i hope this is just an error from my firefox err...

do you guys has the same experience with your PR ?
please let me know

 

Yes, today google had made an minor update.

 

It's been nearly 9 months now... that's an awful long time on the internet. How many years should we wait?

 

So google says... but if the vast majority of pages never ever change... is PageRank really relevant?

 

Just google knows. They can update in june 2011, who knows?

 

Pagerank are update every day, just the toolbar isn't. And someday, they will update the toolbar for all websites.

 

True, true... but honestly, if they update the toolbar for every one every 14 months, how is that useful? 14 month old data on the internet? Think of all that goes on on the internet in 14 months.

 

Yes, but if it's not the toolbar, what metric would be used? I know that have many factors but I think to know how many quality backlinks is the main purpose of PR, in my point of view, of course.

 

Eventually, some other metric may come into use. Meanwhile, Google is not really doing everyone a favor letting us twist in the wind. They know full well how much faith a lot of people put into the toolbar PR, right or wrong. An official announcement one way or another would allow everyone to focus on something that's actually useful.

 

Yes, we just need to wait. I think in 2011 an official announcement will be made or not.

 

No major PR update since months. And i haven't seen any change in PR for my site. I think it is rare thing now. May be once in a year which i believe is good.

If its going to happen it will happen within the next few days or the first few weeks into January. If it doesn't happen now then my other guess would be sometime in April. A year from the last change

 

I agree, though I think they will just continue doing small updates from time to time. tomorrow is probably the last chance for a surprise update from Google.
