I thought that when Google updates PR to the toolbar, they update the newest PR, not three months old. That doesn't make sense. Why would they update 3 months old PageRank? The PR in toolbar will slowly get older and older anyways so you'll need to wait for next update.
A lot of what Google does and says does not make sense. It is the newest score exported since the last update. Is any news that happens once a quarter new or current? Lastly it is the same reason you cannot get to upper results for high competition keywords in less than 6 months...... If Google wanted to give out the keys to the vault they would have done so long ago...things are delayed and not reality for a reason... SPAM...... As for PR getting older......... never heard of such a thing, it may rise and fall, but it does not age as far as I know..
i've had a couple of variations in the backlinks on a couple of my sites, but nothing to indicate that they have started an update yet, just remember - they usally do a backlink update before a pagerank update - and that's a good way to detect when it's about to start.
Oh my god. There actually has been a PR update. My site went like this: One, two, three, four, five, once I caught a fish alive. Six, seven, eight, nine, ten, then I let it go again. Why did you let it go? Because it bit my finger so. Which finger did it bite? This little finger on my right.
lol fair play that must have taken you a while with all those color tags! Think my key site got google raided - overnight pr on nearly every page been killed to 0 - gonna wait a few days to see if they banned me - pretty harsh seeing as the site is all whitehat. Anyone else notice a drop in the last few days or am I the only one at the wrong end of the spikey google stick?
Yes, it looks like the Google PR Update has started. I saw my site regaining PR and is currently at PR 7 from PR 4 (was slapped by Google for selling Text Link Ads).
yeah people don't always want to disclose - thats fair enough though. hope google doesnt come round and kill my dog and family for not being naturally linked too - if it is a penalty its happened to my most white site?!?!?
Here's a fun game for you. Try find a site using Google that has not been unnaturally linked to without going down to the 87,590th result You won't. It'd be interesting to see what Google draw a fine line on 'natural' links. How natural? If I make a site, can I go to another site and say "Hello. You blogged about needing a new right shoe, my site sells shoes - buy them here?
