    My pr went from 0 to 4 on December 31
    And on January 8 it went from 4 to pr 2 .

    The pr drop did not hurt my earnings, but i just don't understand why this happened

    Give it a month or two. Google PR updates can take a while before the results are actually firms.

    first of all check your page rank in multiple tools.

    it is happened many time with many people that pr increased and then suddenly disappeared. But it will not affect your traffic that much.so..try to get more traffic . And if you are keeping regular update on your website you will regain your rank again soon.
