Google Page Rank and IP

    hello friends,

    i am thinking about moving my PR-3 site to a new location. do you think i will lose my PR when I go to the new ip?.

    if yes there is other alternative to maintain my rank ?.

    please advise.

    several times i move my site and haven't any problem with my Google PR
    at least this is my experience moving 1 site from 1 host to another host.

    hello Mubheer,

    I did that before. IP changed but domain name no changed.
    switch to new server IP in two days.
    Yes, the site keeps same PR.

    Logically, the site must not lose any PR. I had also changed servers and IP for a couple of my sites with the PR intact.

    You shouldn't lose PR but you probably will.

    Simple answer, NO - While PR is assigned to URL's and not an IP Address ;)

    Only if the new IP Address is banned by Google, then you might lost your current PR.
