Hmm, I think I'm making this mistake...how many links with the same anchor text would you suggest to submit around the web?
Yep, both affiliate sites... I have many more though that are not affected. And... if this is an automatic filter... how to loose it? Appreciate the feedback!
Just follow the usual guidelines: change anchor a lot and have fun. If you can get 100 links with 100 different anchors @ 100 different and RELEVANT sites, just do it.
Probably slapped with a thin affiliate site filter. Try adding a nofollow to your affiliate outbound links... or you can do what I do which is link to a page on my site such as order.php and have that redirect to the affiliate link. Make sure you have original content on lots of pages, a privacy policy if you are collecting data, contact page etc. Typical SEO SEM quality issues Google wants... Also Google may slap some sites and not others....reasons for that vary but typically its just a matter of time..... Google is not swift in anything they do organically..... however they will take your money via Adwords in a nanosecond
My site isn't an affiliate site, nor is it 'thin'. I have gone through and no-followed just about everything in it that is external. I haven't continued to build links yet. Rankings in google haven't changed yet, but rankings in other SEs like yahoo and MSN have actually gone up, so thats a good thing at least. I guess maybe I should start building a few new links back to the site as well.
That would be great if you were the judge. Being as Google is the judge of what is what..... you might want to step down from the bar, take off your robe, and realize no matter what you think or know its not your search engine and Google will do as Google wants. Keep up the good work though.... add some more high quality anchor text links and wait a bit...Google is slow in scoring things as well..
Maybe I am the judge.... In all seriousness though, considering the site, its pretty strange what has occured with my site anyways.
Join the club. While my old+trusted+relevant sites disappeared straight to 5th page, some Non-relevant spam blogs and NoContent sites gone up up up.
I dont think its an affiliate or thin site issue. Cos all my other sites (same layout/structure/amount of content) that werent involved in in content link buying werent effected. Currently i'm changing 1/3 of all excisting anchors, replacing them with longer tail ones and putting in some "seo inrelevant" ones as well. Hope that this will help. Let say you bought 100 backlinks and used 4 anchors. It will result in an unnatural effect which i believe result in the google -50 filter. Especaly if you dont have hundreds of natural backlinks already. Its just math, anchor - qnt - % of total backlinks so easy for google to integrate in their algo. I"m not a seo expert but it make sense to me. If you get 100 backlinks naturaly you will see that they differ a lot. While people who buy them tend to target and focus on their main keywords ofcourse. Its all about balance.
Next day. But i didn't change anything @ my sites and I did stated that info at reconsideration request. my sites got penalized for what? For ranking high for 3 years in a row? Shameful, they are replacing old + trusted + relevant sites with spam blogs and non-relevant sites. Just directories and "nocontent" sites. That's why soooo many of us are targeting blackhat methods. We followed Google's guidelines all the time and we get dumped. They should reconsider what they are doing to some major sites...
