its happening to a lot of people including me. My website has been ranking high for many terms and now not seen in first 10 page forget top 10. Some crap scraper blogs copying my content are on top position.

Is this some freak update? how on earth a scrap page ranks higher than a original content? Why on earth these scrapped websites even rank?

I just hope this is a temporary update and should go back to normal soon. Its still not normal at my end, over 30 hrs now.

I also have this problem. I searched for many terms which I am ranked in top ten in google webmasters tools, but when I do the search on google with that keyword, I am not even in top 100.

I've never found that the GW positions match reality. I wish they did, I always get higher positions reported in the Google Webmasters.

    It is quite normal .
You see the google big daddy datacenter algorithm, they retrieve ranking data from different databases .
The two ranking data are not large diffence .
And we can understnad it is the "tolerances" of ranking. lol

himalaya.. ignore google webmaster tools.. they're updating at present and not alot of features are working correctly, and the keyword tool wasnt even slightly accurate in the first place.

Your problem is that you've lost placement.. well that will be down to something you've done recently. Think back and work out what you've done that would have jeopardised your placings... have you suddenly got a lot of inbiund links? changed your design or coding?

You're targeting some very competitive terms as i'm sure you know...

Google webmaster tool show result when the last visited your website. On that day somehow they find your website. When you show that result may be it will change because of something wrong done by webmaster himself.

I am having the same problem with mine. I think that what webmaster tools tells you is a snapshot from the past when they last checked it. I'm not sure what that timeframe is though.
