Page Speed Online analyzes the content of a web page, then generates suggestions to make that page faster. Reducing page load times can reduce bounce rates and increase conversion rates. http://pagespeed.googlelabs.com/
Just had a try, My site got an overall Page Speed Score of 76 (out of 100). Don't know it's good or not? How about your sites? Anyway, thanks for your sharing!
74, but does it really matter that much? The site I was checking is hosted locally and it loads super fast in my country. Another site of mine hosted abroad that takes longer than usual to load over here scored 81 - so the results can't be accurate
Hmm I forgot about page speed, i think i need to check if mine is ok, thanks for the reminder!!! Looks to me like page speed is becoming more and more important, as the internet fills up with rubbish websites google needs to find more elements to sift out the rubbish.
Yeah, the page speed algorithm was added late last year as part of the "caffeine" update. Basically a method to encourage a better search experience for users - As mentioned before, a quicker load speed helps reduces bouncebacks. I wouldn't worry TOO much about page loading times though.. in my experience it doesn't have too much of an affect on your SERP results. I'd concentrate on your content, backlinks and site structure first.
It shows "Page Speed Score of 99 (out of 100)" for my sites. In fact it must show 100%. It gives 1 false alarm to my sites and some other big sites.
I made a major change on one of my sites to reduce page load speed to see if it will have any effect on serps!
86 is my score, if you want to reduce your page loading time then you can use .png images, instead of jpeg images. According to Google if your page loading time is greater then your competitors then your site got affected in SERP.
