    I once worked for a now very large webhosting company that was small when I started. They provided coffee (godiva) any kind of soda you could think of, a huge breakroom with a pool table and a ping pong table, couches to sleep on....

    Employees were allowed to burn candles and incense at their desks, it was heaven. Every now and then management came thru throwing toys at everyone. It was cool. Then they got too big for their britches and it all stopped. It was fun while it lasted.

    Doesn't beat working from home tho.

    But with google mistakes (big daddy rollout, algo craziness, loss of legit sites from index, accidental release of corp info that hurts stocks, ect), it looks like things are getting out of control.

    Considering the way it's been going of late, the stockholders will eventually demand that many of this perks be put aside and that the employees actually get some work done. I'd bet that a few years from now, the toys and the pets will be gone in favor of a real work enviroment.
