Google notice of unnatural links detected for new domain

Just got a domain yesterday, my first. I've only added a couple posts so far and I logged into Webmaster Tools only to see a warning of unnatural links... from August of last year. How bad is this? I haven't linked it anywhere yet, I can only assume it expired some time ago and the old owners were of the dodgy variety. I submitted a reconsider request but I don't know how much this is going to hurt my chances of ranking well or even being indexed. OpenSiteExplorer only finds one back link but I can see more of them from googling. Not sure how to find all of them.

Even if you find a better tool to detect the unnatural links it is going to be a dreadful task to get those links removed. If you are able to see indexed spammy links on search results, its high time you consider buying a cleaner domain and selling this one.
