Trying imagining that Google highly considers META KEYWORDS as a ranking factor in search results and you have a website all about electronic gadgets that can vary up to a thousand classification of products.

How many keywords do you think you'll put in the META keywords tag? :D Thousands! Imagine if every webmaster in the world uses the same method as you did?

    Spamming and Google hates it.

If google consider meta keywords, then webmaster placed lot of keywords with different combination and make it spamming. Google that thing don't want. So, google gives very low weightage to keyword tag.

Google no longer uses this Meta Tag and has stated they have no future plans to. One specific instance of this Meta Tag being abused I can think of is when Britney Spears was getting popular and everyone started stuffing her name in the keywords tag. Sites would show up in search results not even relating to Britney or music.
