Hello All, I was wondering why tools like SEO Elite and SEO POwersutie are showing that I have no links to my site from other sites according to Google? This may be because Google has not updated my site yet but I always thought that links were updated as soon as other sites were crawled? Any Suggestions? Thanks, Nick
google does not always show all the links to your site but it doesn't mean its not aware of them if you want to make sure join google webmaster to see all of your links or use yahoo
Thats right, google do not show all links, to avoid further SERP manipulation, just check your SERP and it will tell you that your links are getting indexed
Install Google PR Tool Bar. Navigate to the desired page and click the down arrow of Google Toolbar, click the " cashed snapshot of page" . This will show you when last time the page was crawled.
additionally, batter to trust on G "link:" operator and webmaster tool instead of third party tools and one more thing as "phpwnes" said G is aware about all your inbound links..so dont get frustrate if they showing few links..they considered all your back links to determine rankings..
Google is notorious for being extremely selective in which links they display and which they don't. Yahoo seems to be a lot more liberal in that regard. I'm not sure if that means that the links that Google is not picking up on do not count in their algorithm, it has been a bit of a mystery. But I would continue building links and not worry about what which search engine displays your links and which does not. We all know that links are a crucial component of off-site optimization, so keep it up.
Thanks for all the info... P.S. I have found a site by the name of http://www.websitegrader.com that will analyze your site. One of the records is the last time Google crawled you site...
Hey, Google does grasp up your links but its really slow in showing them. Check yahoo explorer to get a good idea of how many links google has. If you see serps improving then google has your links. They just don't show too many.
