Hi, google just won't index my site properly. They have my home page and a few supplemental results but that's it. The site has been up for a few months now. I have a google site map set up but it doesn't seem to be doing the job. If someone could take a look please reply and i'll send you the link to the site map. Thanks

Sitemap is useless if you don't have good backlinks.

You should submit your sitemap directly to Google to ensure all pages are crawled more quickly. Google takes the XML format. Same for Yahoo who takes Text format.

You need quality and relevant backlinks :)

Sitemap doesn't enforce indexing of websites it just help Google if Google wants to index. :)

Hi cheers but don't you think google is making it harder and harder these days for new sites? So they won't index a page if you don't have backlinks to the page but you don't get backlinks to the page if no one can find it in the first place.

Backlinks are easy to get in my opinion. You can get your site posted in directories, blogs etc. for free in a lot of cases. It is true however that your PageRank may suffer in the very short term if the age of your site is very young and you dont' have high PR backlinks. I got a PR3 on one of my sites in just the first 4 months so it is possible to move the PR at a good clip.
