Google not indexing Canonical URL

I run a blog at fazendoacontecer.net and I changed one of my posts URL. So I have two URLs for one single post.

As I use All In One SEO plugin, I have the canonical meta tag on my header, so Google knows which URL it should be using (but it keeps telling me I have duplicate titles at Google Webmasters Tools)

Anyway, it was doing it correctly, presenting my canonical URL on search results. But, this weekend it changed back to the old URL.

I checked my page it has the correct canonical URL at the header.

Does anyone know why Google is not using the canonical anymore? Is there something I can do to change it back to the canonical?

Earnest01, thank you for you reply.

Redirection between post is done automatically by Wordpress. I want it to be corrected for 2 reasons:

    1. SEO. New url is much better (and I lost some positions when Google changed it).

    2. Understanding. I'd like to know why Google changed from the new (and Canonical) URL to the old (non-canonical) one.

Didn't they create canonical tag themselves? Now they don't use it?

I had one 20% unique page - but I used canonical tag - and it was never indexed...

Well, the first url you provided is never to be found in google (except for this forum). Is it the second one that you redirected to? If so, I guess that's settled now :).

Sorry., but I didn't get what you meant.

The first URL is the new one. The canonical tag on that page points to that URL.

The second one is the one Google is showing in the results page.
