Google not crawled or indexed any urls with valid sitemap...

    Hi all,

I created a wordpress site a few days ago and created a sitemap and submitted it to Google (and Bing). Google webmaster tools shows a success status to retrieving the sitemap with the correct number of URLs submitted displayed (42 atm). However none of the URLS have been indexed.

No crawl statistics have shown up too indicating the site has not been visited by any google bots/crawlers. No Crawl errors are displayed. I'm confident the robots.txt file is not restricting anything so am not sure why the site hasn't been visited yet given that it's been a few days already?

Maybe I just need to be a bit more patient?

    The site is: http://www.thesummon.com

    Thanks.

Well you definitely need some more time, Google does not index too fast these days.

I've also just added a sitemap page to the site. Not sure if it will make too much of a difference but we'll see!

Thanks for the reply, I'll just give Google more time I guess.

By Social bookmarking do you mean Twitter/Facebook etc? Twitter posts have already been setup.

Definitely going to need to give it a bit more time. If you want things to go a bit quicker, submit your site to:

    1. Digg
    2. Mixx
    3. Propeller
    4. Reddit

These site's get crawled every couple of minutes, so if you add a new link to their upcoming section it'll get crawled and indexed immediately, giving your site a better chance of getting crawled sooner.

Yes, give it some time. I have had sites that get 1 or 2 pages indexed right away and others that take a week or 2 before anything happens.

I posted on Digg and it was indexed within a few minutes. I may as well work on attracting sensible referrals from a few gaming sites in the mean time.

I'm also waiting on Bing to crawl and they've found a backlink to my site so some progress has been made.
    Thanks for the tips.

Indexing has been slower lately. I suggest you keep building links, also submitting your site to social bookmark can be a big help.

Lastly, don't forget to check privacy setting in your Wordpress, it is now default at no index and no follow. You need to change it.
