Hello, Anybody can tell me how long does it take for Google SE to update my page description in search results? I mean I have updated my website title and description - but in Google it has still the old description and title
It can take months depending on your site. If your site has high PR it will be updated often and you could see the change in days. Otherwise you may have to wait a while.
it depends on Google whether what they will show as your site's description...I don't experience changes with the site's description in SERP yet even if I try to change the meta description and my main content...
It depends on, how often google crawl your site pages. I have done some changes in description tag, and it took more then a month for google to update that page.
My site is only 3 weeks old (lol)... so far Google bot crawled it twice. But I have already submited Google Sitemap - maybe that will make the bot to crawl more often
Yeah, when my sites were new and not being crawled very often, submission of the sitemap made a big difference. But, it did take a little while before I noticed the change.
Submit your site to digg.com or to any other site that is crawled regularly. It may lead the Google spider to your page sooner.
That's why I use a blog.. Mine get updated daily as you ping update services that you've updated your blog everytime I make a new post. These services process the ping, and update their indices with my update. I can see which bots are currently hitting the site as I also use a 'useronline' plugin.. Now people browsing sites like Technorati or Sphere can find my most recent posts!
hmm.. well go for some backlinks from some high authority sites like web 2.0 that will make google bot come to your page and update the info
i have exp. with wordpress that usually take about 3-5 days to update, sometimes it only 1 day that depend ond PR ping, sitemap and RSS also very important
google page description on its listing doesn't necessarily taken from the your meta description tag. but the title tag usually the latest title tag of your most recent crawled website.
