Google no longer use PR - Page rank checker ?

I hear that google.com don't count page rank anymore and so does this mean that people can't use the page rank checker tool ?

I hear this is happening from year 2010 and people should not take into account about PR ?

Why would google want to do this ? , this is nuts. I offen check peoples PR and then I know if my site needs more links etc to my site. I am very gutted about this. How does everyone else feel about this topic :

Only webmasters and advertisers are interested in PR. So removing this from the Google toolbar wouldn't affect the majority of Google users.
Please note that PR isn't an indicator of traffic or SERPs.

The notion that Google PageRank is a key determinant in ranking on the World's most dominant ... For a long time, PR has just been a comfort bed for SEO noobs.

PR value is one of the 200+ other factors that affect SERPs, and most of the webmaster concern about PR alone because it is the only one that anyone can measure it easily.
