Google Next PR Updates

I am also waiting for the next PR update.

 

There were minor updates that did not affect most people. I saw some sites change slightly in PR some from PR4 to PR0 and read that others might've gone up. Apparently it was an update to penalize or recover pagerank in some instances. For example if websites are found selling links they could've been hit with a PR penalty on those dates while other sites may have recovered PR etc.

While PR may not be a very important factor as far as search ratings go, it is important because people are interested in high PR links. If you have a high pr site which offers free blogs or a link directory with a high PR, people will want to add their links or comments to your site thus contributing information in exchange for a link. You will also get other webmasters with similar sites proposing some valueable link exchanges which can directly affect your search rankings.

One good example would be this forum. I'm sure many people sign up to help promote their site or services and as a result they end up contributing some valuable information. The more they contribute the more they will benefit from signature links to their site or networking with other members who are interested in the same type of information or services.

As far as PR for higher search results we should take into account that a link from a low PR site that has relative content to your site will benefit your search engine results more than a high PR link that is completely irrelevant. So you should focus on building content related links with keyword rich anchor text for best results instead of a bunch of high PR links that are random topics.

Focus on high PR links and context rich links separately and you'll be pleased with the results.

The DP forum admin should make a new section for PR Updates query. The simple answer is - Google is the creator of Page Rank (Google Page Rank) so only google knows when the Google guys going to update the page rank.
