Try here... http://www.google.com/support/news_pub/bin/request.py?contact_type=recommend_publisher But know that they have tons of requirements so the chances of being included are so poor ... only large newspapers have the chance to get in ..... Cheers, Venetsian
I heard a good podcast by Mr SEO about getting into Google News...I don't have any need for it just yet, but it might help you. mrseo.podomatic.com/entry/2006-10-19T20_08_22-07_00
I've tried a few time for google news, they responded to me and said they want x amount of stories a week and more than 1 new poster, not sure if thats changed or not but without this I don't think you will get in.
So they actually responded to you? I suggested my website last friday and still haven't heard from them ... Cheers, Venetsian
Simple do a press release at PRWEB. I have an ebook and a free video on how to do this at my site. mcreasite.com
I had to send them a e-mail, took about a week for them to get back to me saying that I needed more posts / posters for the news section to my site. I even tried telling them I had more than 1 reporter but I posted all the new in order they could not break my site.... needless to say it didn't work
For starters you need an RSS feed of your site as this is how Google indexes pages for Google News. Second you need lots of good content with a track record of adding "news like" stuff on a regular basis. I submitted my main site, around a year ago and they picked it up after I added the RSS feed. They picked up my blog on their own without me submitting it. Getting on the main default page is darn near impossible. It is best to hope to show up in custom Google News sections people might build. Sometimes you can show up high on the "All ### news articles" link. When I hit this page is when I typically get my best traffic from Google News, but even then it isn't much more than a couple hundred visitors. The way to look at Google News is as an opportunity to have someone find your site who might not otherwise ever find it. The goal should be to impress this person enough that they want to come back on their own to read other things you publish. If your entire goal of getting into Google News is for the value of the direct traffic they send you, it is a waste of effort. If your site does get accepted into Google News, don't expect every article to get much traffic from it as it can be real hit or miss as to whether or not your article is on a topic that "interests" Google News on the particular day it gets published. Just remember to get in to Google News in the first place your site has to pass the eyes of a human reviewer, so make sure your site has real "value". Quality content is king.
